Good News, Bad News

The good news: George W Bush actually does know what a disgrace US economic policy has been for the environmental health of the world.

The bad news?

He thinks it is funny.

The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: “Goodbye from the world’s biggest polluter.”

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

BTW, a remedy for any possible feelings of nausea upon reading that can be had by reading to the end of the article for a good laugh at how incompetance can sometimes let a little reality intrude on one’s propoganda!

Mr Bush also faced criticism at the summit after Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, was described in the White House press pack given to journalists as one of the “most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice”.

The White House apologised for what it called “sloppy work” and said an official had simply lifted the characterisation from the internet without reading it.

I laughed out loud, startling my unsuspecting canine companions. See what good comes from not actually reading what you write?

  1. Often a country deserves its leader, especially a democracy. Bloody hell, we just got rid of John Howard! Did Australia deserve that clown?
